Presbyterian missionary, Dr. John Menaul was sent to Laguna Pueblo in 1876. The following year, he acquired a small printing press which became known as the Laguna Mission Press. Within eight months, Menaul had printed 3,875 pages on this press, which was the first printing press located in an Indian Pueblo.
